From particles to parsecs The Sky at Night Magazine (May, 2022). I explore the the way in which physics's pre-occupation with the very largest and smallest of scales has been mutually informative.

How Galileo changed the way we look at the universe The Sky at Night Magazine (April, 2021). I describe the dispute between Scientific Realists, Instrumentalists/Empiricists and Kuhnian views of theory-ladeness. Cardinal Bellarmine's injunction that Galileo not treat the heliocentric model as truth but merely as a contrivance to 'save the phenomena' serves as an initial example.

Zebras, Bacteria and Asteroids The Philosophers Magazine (Feburary, 2021). I discuss the tension between Scientific Realism and the Metaphysical Unity of Science. I also propose briefly a radical resolution: treat composition as a causal relation!
